Frankincense Essential Oil - How and Why to Use it!
Okay - I know this has nothing to do with setting up your nonprofit organization, but I just have to share a bit of something that happened to my hubby and me this past month. It was so traumatic for us I felt compelled to write about it, in case something like this happens to you, you'll know what to do!
So Here's What Happened
We moved into a house that was obviously cleaned by the previous residents with a LOT of bleach. Pretty sure they sprayed the bathroom walls, and the tile floors, with bleach in order to clean the grout. As bad as that was, to add insult to injury, they did not rinse off the bleach (and all of the downstairs flooring, and all the bathrooms, are tile!) Consequently, I've been really sick since the 2nd day after moving in, and my hubby followed suit after a week.
In between all our symptoms, the hubby and I have been running around like crazy, mopping the floors with just water, and then vinegar and water, and washing the walls with the same solution, to try and clean the house out.
Ahhhh - the Wonders of Frankincense!
Unfortunately, in spite of our efforts, we could still smell the chemicals...and it was still making us sick. But - I remembered about, and quickly purchased, some Frankincense essential oil! Most people have heard of Frankincense (North Star, Bethlehem, and Wise Men ring a bell?) but don't know its value and uses. Let me tell you: IT'S AWESOME STUFF! You can use it as a natural remedy for the flu or a cold, to help overcome indigestion, to reduce pain and inflammation in your muscles and joints, and as a natural antiseptic and household cleaner! It can be expensive, but a little bit of ESSENTIAL oil goes a long way. Go here for additional information on the wonderful uses and benefits of Frankincense Essential Oil.
To help clear out house of all the chemicals, I've been using it in a bowl with water to draw the chemicals out of the air; to clean the floors, in addition to the water and vinegar; and I also put it in my Diffuser to help clear the air of impurities. The house is finally starting to rid itself of the chemical/bleach smell - woohoo!
Essential Oil or?
If you want to try some, be sure to get the "essential" oil, NOT the fragrance type of oil. And don't buy cheap, because you most likely won't get 100% essential oil... Cheap will often translate to a bad (even fake!) product. I purchase mine from Puritan's Pride; they have a REALLY good product, and it's on sale right now! And I don't get a kickback or anything...so go HERE to check out their version, and read the reviews.
For example, you can buy a bottle from one of those Essential Oil companies, and it'll cost about $78! The same stuff/same size bottle, and believe me it's good quality, from Puritan's is $31.00 by comparison. But hang on - they're having their "buy one, get one free" sale, AND right now they're offering an additional 10% off sale...so you get TWO bottles for only $28.00! Really an incredible deal!
Hope you really consider getting and using Frankincense Essential Oil for your home - and try to get away from using chemicals. And now I have to go; time to stock up and order some more Frankincense! Let me know if you order some, and how you're using it!
